This building was originally constructed in 1995 as a garage. It used pole frame technology borrowed from agricultural buildings and turf roof technology from Norway. Much timber was recycled from a camp at Middleton, which was being dismantled. In 2002 it was converted into an Office to house both Quercus and Sally Ruel Architect practices.
It has an oil fired boiler and underfloor heating. A new screen has been fitted behind the garage doors and it is lined and insulated throughout. Gable and clerestory glazing was introduced to fill the gaps at high level.
